WELCOME TO THE PARLOUR

A women’s and non-binary Salon in Nyack, NY

Highlighting a diverse array of experiences, our offerings encompass pop-up events, engaging performances, thought-provoking discussions, literary readings, captivating tarot nights, all complemented by catering from BerryGoodEats.

Who we are

The Parlour is a local venue that facilitates regular gatherings for women and gender non-conforming individuals to come together regularly and share artistic & culinary experiences together. To make this work, we are hoping for the active engagement of women within the community who will assume roles as hosts and performers, creating a distinctive space for self-expression amid a community of like-minded individuals.

The quarterly events at The Parlour, hosted by Jo Berry - your very own local "salonniere" -  feature pop-ups, engaging performances, discussions, readings, and tarot nights, all complemented by the culinary finesse of BerryGoodEats. Owned by Jo Berry herself, BerryGoodEats provides a catering experience to each event, offering a curated selection of dishes and delightful treats. Each culinary creation is thoughtfully designed to elevate the gathering, adding a flavorful touch to the collaborative art creation and community-building atmosphere.

Jo's favorite part...

"Think old-school Salons where people would mingle and compare ideas. It’s a safe space for women and femmes to be together, share stories and spend a few dedicated hours away from other responsibilities and relish being amongst our peers. A lot of times there will be readings and discussions and sometimes performances accompanied by discussions of feminism in performance - a creative space for women."

Tell Me More About Salons

"While the roots of the salon can be found in Ancient Greece and Rome, the first recorded salons took place in Italy in the 15th Century, and these were a precursor to the Enlightenment Period. They were an opportunity for artists, poets, musicians, thinkers, the Renaissance intellectual glitteratti and their hangers-on, to come together across social classes to hob-nob and share ideas out of the scrutiny of the Roman Catholic Church."

Goddess on Earth: ORACLE Workshop & Feast

Hosted by The Parlour (Jo) with Special Guest Lisa Levart

A Sensory Celebration of the Five Elements with Food, Drink & Divine Feminine Wisdom

This fall, The Parlour’s Jo invites you to a one-of-a-kind workshop that blends sensory nourishment with spiritual exploration. Centered around the **five elements—Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Spirit—**Jo will craft inspired food and drink pairings designed to awaken your palate and ground you deeply in each element’s unique energy.

As you savor each thoughtfully prepared bite and sip, Lisa Levart, creator of the Goddess on Earth: ORACLE deck, will guide you through the deck’s rich world of archetypes and elemental wisdom. This 45-card divination deck features iconic portraits of real women embodying the Divine Feminine and offers powerful tools for reflection, intuition, and connection.

Together, Jo and Lisa will lead you through a multi-sensory journey—where taste, story, and spirit come alive. You’ll learn about the elemental framework of the deck, experience paired card readings, and explore how these ancient energies live within you.

What to Expect:

  • A carefully curated tasting menu and drinks inspired by the five elements, crafted by Jo of The Parlour

  • A huge feast with pavlova, roasted fish and meats, oysters, wine for days and days and more... with an added fun sensory tasting while the readings go on!

  • What time should I arrive?
For all events I would say on time. We may have an agenda... like a performance and then a chat. Or a pop up...and unlike most pop ups that are more open-ended, we encourage you to come on time and mingle for the afternoon. Enjoy the food and drink. Sit and have a chat with some of the other women. Use this opportunity to connect and relax in a private environment.
  • Why the fee?
Because of the exclusivity of the party, each ticket is met with thoughtful pairings. I want people to come and be a part of an experience. Come and eat, drink and indulge your senses. Each event will have something a little different to offer, and so the prices will be adjusted accordingly.
  • What is your refund policy?
Once a ticket is purchased, we are not able to offer refunds for the event. Thank you for your understanding.
